Saskatchewan's active case count for COVID-19 fell by over 1,000 from November 6 to December 6.

The Saskatchewan Health Authority reported 48 new cases of the disease Monday, with 62 recoveries and two deaths.

That brought the active count to 634, down from 1,745 a month prior.

The highest active case count recorded in the province was 4,864 on September 26.

Two new cases were reported in the South East - one each in Estevan's and Weyburn's Sub Zones. Sub Zone 4, which encompasses the Estevan area and comprises 30,378 people, fell from 48 active cases on Sunday to 41 on Monday.

The seven-day average for daily new cases is 66. The death count is 931.

And hospitalizations decreased by two, to 130 in the province. One hundred people are receiving inpatient care, while 30 are in intensive-care units. Of the hospitalizations, 85 (65.4 per cent) are not fully vaccinated. There are an additional three Saskatchewan residents in ICUs outside of the province.
