The 18U Estevan Apex Bruins had a good taste of how they stack up against the top competition in the Saskatchewan AA Hockey League on the weekend.

The Bruins played the hosting Regina Capitals twice, winning 6-3 on Sunday after a 5-2 loss Saturday.

Estevan is 16-2-0-1 (wins, losses, ties, overtime losses). Their points-percentage of .868 is second in the league to only the Capitals (17-1-0-2).

James Mann led the offensive charge for the Bruins all weekend. He had three goals and two assists in the Sunday win, after scoring twice on Saturday. He's up to 17 goals in 17 games.

Kaden Chrest had a goal and two assists Sunday for Estevan, and Mason Fichter scored the other goal while adding a helper. Ty Fehrenbach made 25 saves for his ninth win.

The Capitals and Bruins played one game earlier this season - a 5-4 overtime win for Regina in Estevan on October 2.

The Bruins play next in Swift Current for games Friday and Saturday before a Sunday tilt in Moose Jaw.
