Estevan Fire Rescue responded to numerous calls over the week, as described by Fire Chief Rick Davies.

On April 18, a crew was dispatched at around 2:50 p.m. to a 2-vehicle collision in the southeast area of the city. Crews responded and assisted with the incident with no entrapment and only minor injuries reported from the incident.

Later that day at 5:45 p.m. a crew responded to a residential fire alarm in the southeast area of the city. Crews responded and investigated and confirmed the alarm was cooking-related with EFR assistance not required.

On April 19, a crew was dispatched at 7:35 a.m. to a commercial fire alarm just south of the city. Crews responded and investigated, finding no emergency occurring with a possible alarm issue. They confirmed that EFR assistance was not required.

That night at 8:10 p.m. a crew went to a vehicle vs deer incident just south of the city. Crews responded and assisted with no entrapment or injuries reported from the incident.

On April 20, a crew was dispatched at around 10:30 p.m. to a residential carbon monoxide alarm in the Northeast area of the city. Crews responded and investigated, confirming moderate carbon monoxide readings were present. SaskEnergy was called to the scene to further investigate.

The next day, April 21, a crew was dispatched at around 12:50 p.m. to a commercial fire alarm in the Northeast area of the city. Crews responded and investigated, finding no emergency occurring. The alarm was due to accidental pull station activation, with the crew assisting with resetting the alarm system.

Soon after a crew was dispatched at around 1:00 PM to a wildland fire Southeast of the city. Crews responded and found a fire occurring east of the Shand Power Station. Crews were able to gain control of the fire and extinguish it with assistance from Westmoreland Coal ERT. No damage or injuries were reported, with crews on the scene for approximately 2 hours. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
