On Monday, Saskatchewan reached an all time high of power consumption at 4:09 pm in lieu of the extreme temperatures.

As temperatures soared this past week, so did power consumption across Saskatchewan reaching a record amount of 2866 megawatts.

The previous summertime record was set July 6th of this year at 2759 megawatts with the highest record with power consumption in January 2 2007 at 2969 megawatts.

The figures in the summertime have previously been lower than winter power consumption, however air conditioning has become more efficient and practical in terms of price and more people are opting to stay cool.
