A second spraying of Malathion is scheduled for Monday July 30th between 9:30 p.m. and 5 a.m.

Saskatchewan Health and Sun Country Health Region has recommended that Estevan continues with a second spraying of Malathion because of a significant number of West Nile Virus Infected mosquitoes that have continued to be found in mosquito traps.

As Doctor Shauna Hudson, medical health officer for Sun Country Health Region explains, the ultra low volume application of Malathion poses no risk to human health.

The spraying is a preventative measure, however you it is strongly recommended that you drain all standing water in your yard, use an insect repellent that contains DEET, dress in light loose, light long sleeved clothing and limit dawn and dusk activities.
