The Estevan Bruins dropped a 4-2 decision to the Humboldt Broncos Sunday afternoon at Affinity Place.

Humboldt scored three times in the opening period to take control of the game. Matthew Perkins led the way for the Broncos, scoring a pair of goals including the game winner and an empty netter to seal the deal.

The Bruins, who beat Humboldt 6-2 on Saturday night to snap the Broncos' 8-game win streak, saw their own winning streak end at six games, and their unbeaten in regulation streak end at nine games.

Dayton Deics scored a shorthanded goal for the Bruins, his first marker of the year. The Bruins now have a whopping nine shorthanded goals this season and lead the league in that category.

Mark Rumsey extended his point streak to eight games with an assist.

Estevan now has a record of 12-4-0-1 on the season, while Humboldt improves to 15-5.

The Bruins host Melville on Tuesday night.
