Monday morning rain met by temperatures near the freezing mark is causing icy conditions on some highways around the southeast.

Travel was not recommended on the Trans-Canada from Regina east to the Manitoba border, according to the province's Highway Hotline around 6 a.m.. As of 9 a.m., road conditions have improved, and winter driving conditions are reported for that stretch of highway.

The same is the case for Highway 47 a little north of Stoughton and Highway 48. The travel-not-recommended classification was changed to winter driving conditions.

Wet road subject to freezing is reported on Highway 47 between Estevan and Stoughton and Highway 361.
