Throughout the month of August, one man has been on a mission to raise awareness about residential schools, and raise money for the Orange Shirt Society. B’yauling Toni aimed to do this by cycling to every federally recognized residential school in Saskatchewan and leaving a pair of moccasins.

Throughout his journey, Toni was greeted with support from everyone he encountered as he covered more than 3,000 kilometres over the course of 24 days. He wrapped up his journey on Wednesday when he returned home to Saskatoon, where he was greeted by a welcoming committee from Onion Lake Cree Nation.

Before he wrapped up his journey, he sent us an audio file answering some questions, as setting up a time for an interview with Toni was quite difficult, given his endeavour.
