The annual event runs today through Saturday and features everything the best of the best in livestock genetics as well there’s something for everyone to enjoy from entertainment to the trade show.

Agribition President Stewart Stone says what makes Agribition so strong is show’s roots in the livestock sector.

"Agribition is the certainly beef show in Canada and one of the top two or three in North America. It's a great opportunity for us to show the world, what we have to offer and to do business. This province is a leader in agriculture worldwide," Stone said.

Agriculture Minister Lyle Stewarts says it’s a key show for the industry and the province alike.

"The show last year provided $56 million of economic impact in the province. I would suggest that there is considerably more. (More) business arises from the show than just that, contacts made from that show particularly international ones and it's very difficult to calculate the real value of some of the deals that come out of those," Stewards said.
