Some producers are starting to look at farm succession options and retiring from the farm.

With that in mind, Gardiner Dam Terminal at Strongfield gave producers a special time limited offer to sell their Class A and B shares back to the company.

CEO Shawn Graham says with the offering now wrapped up GDT will buy back 1,150 shares or 4.6% of shares in the producer-owned company at a share value of $900 each.

"Shares bought back will be cancelled by the corporation," he said. "That result, of course, ending up being that those that chose to retain their share or ownership in the company have a little bit stronger of an ownership position for the future. I think that bodes well for our company as well."

Gardiner Dam Terminal Ltd. is a producer-owned company that jointly owns and operates an inland grain terminal located near Strongfield with crop input supply businesses near Strongfield, Broderick, and Tullis.
