Members of the cattle industry are gathering to say goodbye to one of their own today.

Memorial services for Boyd Anderson are being held today in Glentworth.

Anderson was a well-known and well-respected rancher and leader in the cattle industry, having served as President of the Canadian Cattlemen’s Association from 1976 to 1977 and the Saskatchewan Stock Growers Association from 1969 to 1972.

He was also a successful author who wrote 3 books, Beyond the Range: A History of the Saskatchewan Stock Growers, Grass Roots and Grass and Grain – a collection of columns he wrote for Grainews.

Anderson was a prominent member of the cattle industry and loved his time on the ranch raising sheep and cattle in the Fir Mountain area.

Boyd Anderson who was 96-years-old passed away last Thursday in Moose Jaw.

Memorial services will take place today 2 pm at the United Church in Glentworth.
