It’s a big honour to be inducted into the Saskatchewan Agricultural Hall of Fame.

Six individuals who have played a key role in the ag sector will be inducted next Saturday, April 22 in Saskatoon. Hall of Farm Chairman Reed Andrew says this year six worthy individuals are being inducted in a special celebration.

"It's all of course held at the Western Development Museum in their banquet hall and it's also where the actual hall is housed upstairs where there is over 225 inductees over the last 40 some years," Andrew said. 

This year’s inductees include Art Mainil the founding President of the Weyburn Inland Terminal, Tim Oleksyn a rancher and champion of the beef sector, George Cooper a farmer who throughout his life was dedicated to improving the ag sector, Bob McKercher was involved in pioneering work relating to soil tests for fertilizer recommendations, Donna Edwards a seed grower and community advocate who has benefited agriculture and the rural way of life locally, provincially and nationally and Wilf Keller a researcher and tireless champion of agriculture biotechnology.
