The same day Fast Trucking Services Ltd. co-founder Vi Day was honoured at the Saskatchewan Oil and Gas Show, her son Dennis donated a quarter-million dollars to the Jim Pattison Children's Hospital Foundation (JPCHF).

Dennis, who now owns Fast Trucking, made the announcement Wednesday at the two-day event being held in Weyburn.

The JPCHF said the donation will be a boon for continued enhancements in equipment, technology, programming, and research at the hospital in Saskatoon.

"I care about everybody, and that's the way I was raised," said Dennis.

He will have a treatment room within day medicine and pediatric oncology named in his honour.

"Dennis Day's deep commitment to community, family, and well-being are true Saskatchewan values; ones which the families and children from all four corners of our province are fortunate to benefit from," said JPCHF President and CEO Brynn Boback-Lane.
