Souris Moose Mountain Mp, Ed Komarnicki recently released a report which looked back on the past year on a variety of highlight events in parliament.

The report stated that in 2008, more families will see more money in their pockets resulting from an initiative including cutting the GST from seven percent to six percent to five percent, reducing the lowest income tax rate to fifteen percent and increasing the amount Canadians can earn before paying federal tax.

Komarnicki explains that another strategy includes implementing a new 2000 dollar Child Tax Credit as well as a targeted tax credit for kids sports and text books.

A favourite initiative expressed within the public has been the Universal Child Care benefit that provides one hundred dollars per month for each and every child under six.

Komarnicki adds that they will continue their agenda of democratic reform by limiting the tenure of Senators to a term of eight years and giving Canadians a voice in the appointment of Senators.
