It was one-hundred years ago in March that Alameda, the "Small Town with a Big Heart", became a town.

Current and former residents will celebrate the centennial this weekend, and Volunteer Allan Faber says there's something for everyone including a barbecue, ball tournament, fireworks, a show and shine, parade, school tours, and the fly-by and parachute drop.

Approximately seven-hundred people have already registered for the event from as far away as British Columbia, the Northwest Territories, and the United States.
