The local Angel Tree, which collects and gives out toys to children for Christmas, has had a great year of fundraising.

In total, over 400 kids received toys from the Angel Tree, with enough toys to go around for some kids to receive two.

That's according to organizer Charlotte Seeman, who says that all those gifts are thanks to Estevan and all the surrounding communities.

"Everything went amazing," said Seeman, "We put a call out there and every kid got a toy, some kids got two toys, and we had more toys in each age group. The outpouring for this community was incredible, they just give, give, give."

The Angel Tree doesn't receive funding outside of the area, so every donation means a lot to the cause, says Seeman.

"We just want to give out a huge thank you to Estevan and the surrounding area, for the support. We receive no funding from anyone else, it's always starting December we say 'we need money for toys' and we've never not had enough."

"It's just crazy," said Seeman, "We don't do any fundraising, and we're all volunteers, and it's all done by Estevan and the surrounding areas."

Seeman is also a chairperson for the Christmas Hamper Association, which also went well this year.
