The Estevan Police Service responded to 46 calls for service over the weekend, 12 of which were related to traffic violations.

Police attended a call where an individual was reported to be intentionally causing injury to a pet. A 20-year-old female from Estevan was arrested and charged with injuring/endangering an animal under the Criminal Code. She will attend court to address the charges at a later date.

Police were called to a report of a car hitting a pedestrian in a parking lot. EMS was also called to the scene, where they transported the victim who had sustained minor injuries. The driver was ticketed under the Traffic Safety Act.

Police responded to a report of a domestic disturbance at a residence in the Pleasantdale area. Officers spoke with the parties involved and were able to mediate the situation.

Police attended a disturbance call at a local hotel where two males were causing issues and refused to leave. A 24-year-old male from Estevan was arrested for failing to comply with his probation order, and he also had warrants from other jurisdictions. He was lodged in cells until sober and released with a court date in May to address his charges.

There were two complaints of excessive speed and erratic driving. One of the drivers was warned about their driving actions. The other vehicle was not located, but the caller provided details of the license plate number and description of the vehicle, the matter is under investigation. 

Police received a report of a theft of a truck. Statements were provided, and that matter remains under investigation.

Several condition/curfew checks were conducted over the weekend. From this, a 50-year-old Estevan man was arrested and charged for failing to comply with his release order. He was released and will speak to his charges at a later date.
