It feels like spring playoff weather in southeast Saskatchewan this week, and so it's only fitting that the post-season for the Big Six Hockey League begins Wednesday night.
Eight teams in the league have qualified for the playoffs. Here's how the first round matchups break down:
- Redvers Rockets (1) vs. Midale Mustangs (8)
- Oxbow Huskies (2) vs. Yellow Grass Wheat Kings (7)
- Moosomin Rangers (3) vs. Carlyle Cougars (6)
- Carnduff Red Devils (4) vs. Bienfait Coalers (5)
The Carnduff-Bienfait series begins tonight with Game 1 in Carnduff. The Red Devils are looking to defend their league title from a year ago.
Moosomin and Carlyle also begin their series tonight with Game 1 in Moosomin.
All first round quarterfinal series are best of three. The semi-finals and finals will be best of five.
