Tonight in Carnduff, the Red Devils will look to right the wrongs of the past and put themselves in a position to topple the Yellow Grass Wheat Kings.

The Wheat Kings swept Carnduff in last year's final, a series that finished with two one-goal games and a two-goal game and extending the Red Devils Championship drought to twelve years.

What's in the past is in the past as they say, and both teams are focused on a 2020 pennant.

Carnduff swept their competition in round one, defeating the Midale Mustangs 5-2, 3-0 and 4-0.

Their goaltender, Cody Dumaine comes out of the series with a stellar 0.67 GAA  over the three games.

Head coach of the team, Ed McMillen said that heading into this series he believes his group's largest asset is their back end.

"We've got solid goaltending and the team plays pretty strong defensively so if we can get some offence from some different guys in the lineup throughout the series here we'll be fine against Yellow Grass."

On the other side of the puck, the Wheat Kings played a tougher competitor in the first round in the Wawota Flyers who took four games to eliminate in games that ended in scores of 5-4, 8-3, 6-5OTL and 5-1.

Standout goaltender, Tanner Erickson played in net for the three wins while Terrick Wilderman was between the pipes for their overtime loss.

Head coach of the team, Doug Lumb said that the tougher competition works to their advantage and helps them stay at their best and that his group is looking forward to a hard-working tilt with Carnduff.

"We had a good series with Carnduff last year and we split our season series with Carnduff, there's not much splitting the two teams when we're both at our best and we're excited for some good hockey."

You can catch that game live on the airwaves at 8 tonight, your pregame show starts at 7:50 with the voice of Big Six Hockey, Nick Nielson.
