He wasn't easily recognizable only a year ago, but now his name is hard to forget.

Brayden King is riding the wave of success from his recent audition on American idol, all from being discovered on TikTok. King received three yes's in Las Vegas and proceeded to the second round of elimination in Hollywood. With a golden ticket in hand, he was embraced into the limelight, catching the attention of many as the season progresses.

Behind the recent success is an entire music career that he's been passionately building for years behind the scenes.

His music career started with his band back in high school called 7th Avenue, playing over 100 shows.

The pandemic effectively put an end to the concert scene, forcefully launching King's solo career he never considered previously.

What started as solo acoustic shows became a band touring the country. King has kept busy performing more than 130 shows just in the last year.

"This is just the beginning" he exclaims, talking about his year opening for the likes of the Hunter Brothers, Tenille Arts, Dan Davidson, and many other notable country and rock artists.

He expressed the importance of taking the major leap to drop everything else and put all of his focus on music. "There is no plan B. We are gonna make it no matter what. As long as I wasn't starving I was fine. I put all of my eggs in one basket for something I really love. It's what made my career start to grow so quickly"

King has maintained a strong social media presence, which helps connect with his ever-growing fan base. "I don't like anyone ever telling me they didn't know I was playing a show. I want to make sure they know what's going on in my life. If I put out a new song, they know about it."

"I remember being so timid, nervous, and scared that I was annoying people but after a lot of practice and making a lot of TikTok videos and being in front of the camera, I just kind of realized I'm going to post whatever I want whenever I want and the people that want see it are going to continue to follow me"

"I put all of my life into my music. I write songs about my personal experiences only. I don't like to put anything out there that's fake."

King was not spared any challenges in his career. He continues to mourn and honor his mom who passed away from pancreatic cancer in the summer of 2021. King says it was right around the time that his career was starting to rapidly grow and he was trying to make a name for himself.

King recalls the difficult decision to be away from his sick mother despite her encouragement to tour after getting diagnosed. "I don't want you to come home. I want you to stay on the road, play your shows, do your thing write your songs, and call me every day and tell me all about it. So that's what I did. She was my biggest inspiration to keep pushing and even after her funeral, I could feel her telling me not to stop. I could stopped all my summer shows and taken time to be sad. Of course, there's a time for mourning but we went and played a show four days after her funeral because I knew that's exactly what she would want." King expresses how important it is to keep pushing and not give up on himself because his mother never wanted him to let go of this dream.

King just released a brand new single called Livin' the Dream and will be on the road all year long across Canada.

"I don't feel like I ever work a day in my life so I'm pretty thankful for that"
