The Estevan Bruins announced a pair of transactions in advance of their home game against Weyburn Friday.

The Bruins dealt forward Brenden Holba to the Portage Terriers in exchange for defenceman Kian Calder. Calder is another left-handed shooting defenceman and figures to fill some of the void left by Nolan Jones, who is serving an 11-game suspension and won't be eligible to return until November.

Calder will be in the lineup Friday against the Red Wings.

"He's a good puck moving defenceman, he can play on the power play, has a little bit of a physical side to his game," said head coach Jason Tatarnic.

The Bruins also traded for forward Prescott Senger from division rival Yorkton in exchange for a conditional draft pick. Senger is expected to add some size and physicality to the forward group.

He'll also play against Weyburn.

"We want him to come in and be a power forward and play a role for us," Tatarnic said. "And there's a good opportunity for him here if he does that."
