The Estevan Bruins early season win streak came to an abrupt halt Tuesday evening at the SJHL showcase, as the Bruins lost 5-2 to the La Ronge Ice Wolves in Warman, Sask.

Josh Singh scored the winner for La Ronge with under seven minutes to go in the third period, and an ugly five-minute major cross checking penalty to Bruins defenceman Nolan Jones stymied any comeback hopes the Bruins had.

Jones will likely be suspended, as he caught Ice Wolves forward Holden Knights up high in the face area after Knights took a run at one of the Bruins' players.

Meanwhile Bruins forward Mark Rumsey scored again and now has four goals on the year to lead the team.

Estevan will now try to get back in the win column with a quick turnaround against the Humboldt Broncos Wednesday morning.

Game time is 10:30 a.m. You can listen to all the action on Rock 106 beginning at 10:20 a.m.
