The shortest hockey off-season in recent memory in Estevan will end this weekend when the Estevan Bruins open training camp at Affinity Place.

The Bruins will hold three-a-day scrimmages on Saturday and Sunday, with several new faces expected to be on the ice after an off-season filled with change.

The Bruins will skate from 9-11 a.m., 2-4 p.m., and 7:30-9:30 p.m. on both days.

They'll also hold a practice and fitness session on Monday.

Camp opens just three months after the Bruins finished up their 2021-2022 season, a 4-0 loss to eventual champion Brooks at the Centennial Cup on May 25.

Estevan has a 5-game pre-season schedule which begins Saturday Sept. 3 at Affinity Place against the rival Weyburn Red Wings.

And for the second year in a row, the Bruins will open up their regular season at home against division rival Yorkton. The home opener against the Terriers goes on Friday Sept. 16.
