A second severe April winter storm and two power outages did not deter the Estevan Bruins, who beat the Flin Flon Bombers 2-0 Saturday night in a delayed-filled game at Affinity Place.

The game, which was a scheduled 7 p.m. start, was delayed an hour due to a power outage that struck near the end of warm up. The game eventually got going at 8 p.m., but was delayed again after a second outage hit near the end of a scoreless first period.

The game would resume about a half an hour later after the power in the rink came back on, and stayed on for the rest of the night. Olivier Pouliot scored the only goal of the game. The SJHL's leading point getter in the playoffs was able to beat Bombers goaltender Cal Schell with a shot off the post and in early in the middle frame.

Pouliot would add an empty netter in the dying seconds of the third period to seal the deal.

"It was a different experience for sure...the first time it's ever happened in my career," Bruins head coach Jason Tatarnic said. "Give the guys credit, they kept their energy, they really wanted to play. That was the big thing, just staying up and wanting to play, and that carried us through the circumstances."

Boston Bilous made 27 saves for the shut out victory.

The series now shifts to Flin Flon for games three and four Tuesday and Wednesday night at the Whitney Forum.

Estevan leads the best of seven championship series two games to none.
