Royal Canadian Legion Branch 60 in Estevan has donated $6,000 to the Army Cadets.
Craig Bird, the commanding officer of the cadets in Estevan, accepted the donation last week.
"We rely on funding from our sponsor organizations as well as some funding from the Department of National Defence," Bird said. "So being that its been a little bit quieter because of COVID, all of the funding that we do get is available to go to the kids and do some activities and do things that normally we wouldn't be able to do."
In particular, Bird said he hopes to get back into the schools in the future.
"Since we haven't really done anything in the last two years with them. Hopefully this fall we'll be able to get back into the schools and do some recruiting."
