The Soo Thunderbirds overcame incredible odds on their way to the 2022 Centennial Cup in Estevan.
Down 3-0 in their NOJHL championship series, the Thunderbirds were able to roar back and win four straight games, ultimately defeating the Hearst Lumberjacks in overtime in game 7.
Up front the T-birds are led by Michael Chaffay, who was well over a point a game in 15 post-season contests. Goaltender Noah Metivier posted an impressive 2.08 goals against average in the playoffs.
The Soo will go up against Flin Flon, Ottawa, Summerside, and Dauphin in Group B play, beginning with a Thursday afternoon showdown against the Bombers.
