It was September 15, 1946, when a plane travelling from Minot to Estevan crashed near the Estevan Airport, killing everyone on board.

Twenty of the men were pilots, and the other victim was a grounds crewman.

They were WWII veterans that had begun ferrying planes between the cities following the conclusion of the war.

A small, private ceremony is planned to be held this afternoon to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the tragedy at 15 Wing Royal Canadian Air Force Base in Moose Jaw.

Tributes have been made to honour the victims, including a Forever in the Clouds monument by sculptor Darren Jones and a book named Together Forever in the Clouds that was recently released by author Marie Donais Calder.
