Last night's City-Wide registration was a big hit for both the city's own programs and the programs for a myriad of organizations that showed up to the event.

10 different organizations were at the event, ranging from Tae-Kwon-Doe to Lacrosse and many others.

The Program Director for the city of Estevan Erin Wilson says seeing people come out to participate in the registration was amazing.

'It was wonderful to see everyone coming out and discovering new activities and programs that they could join, for us at the city of Estevan we focus on swimming lessons," said Wilson, "We had 120 registrations in the first 5 minutes, so we really found that successful and we're really excited to see swimmers coming in for their lessons this fall."

"We registered and filled 45 classes, and we will release a winter set of swimming lessons, but we are asking the public to give us some time to get organized and of course, like many groups are doing, see how the government's regulations and guidelines end up in the fall here."

"If anybody did try to register, have any challenges, not let into the class they were hoping for, please give us a call. We are doing waitlists so that we can create more classes so we are ready to get all the little swimmers into the classes that they want to participate in."

The rest of the organizations had a great time at the registration, according to Wilson.

"They're always thrilled to have people come in and talk about their sport or their activity, find out more information and obviously get some more people," said Wilson, "It's the more the merrier for a lot of the activities they're running."

"It felt very normal in a way, a bit more traditional to what we're used to seeing," said Wilson, "I loved being able to smile and wave and interact with individuals and be able to spend some time explaining to them all about their activities and see their excitement, and we're looking forward to a great fall."

Wilson says that the vaccine clinic which ran during the registrations was also very busy giving out doses.
