If you attend an Estevan Bruins game at Affinity Place this season you can't miss seeing Audrey Bod.

The longtime Bruins fan is at every home game, helping to sell programs pre-game before settling into her seat to watch all the action. She's been coming to games since the early 80's.

"It took one practice and I fell in love with it ever since," said Bod, who is originally from Torquay, Sask. "My sister was (a big fan), and we both got into it."

When she reflects back on all the hockey she's watched in Estevan over the years, the memories come flooding back. She especially remembers the 2022 championship run.

"Game 7 here, 2-0. This place was rocking," Bod said.

She also followed the Bruins team in 2018 to Nipawin for Game 7 of the SJHL Finals. The team came up just short that year. Further back, she remembers the old Estevan Civic Auditorium.

There's one game that sticks out...I can't remember who they were playing. The game went to triple overtime," she said. "We had drums, kettles, frying pans, you name it. It was rocking."

And she thinks pretty fondly of Affinity Place too.

"It's nice...You feel like you're not in Estevan and then it's like 'Oh, you're in Estevan,'" she laughed.

As for this year's team, she said its an easy bunch to cheer for.

"All the players are very nice, they're polite, kind-hearted, and not one player is ignorant," she said. "They treat people with respect."

Bod didn't hesitate when she was asked who her favourite player is.

"Mitch Kohner, because he's a sweetheart," she said.

Bod said coming to games is a big part of her life, and she doesn't plan on slowing down anytime soon.

"It's something to do in the winter time, and I enjoy watching them. I look forward to every game, but I hate coming out when it's cold," she said.
