Saskatchewan saw another 492 cases of COVID-19 reported Saturday, bringing the total number of active cases up to 4,751. It was also reported there were four more deaths linked to COVID, bringing the total number of COVID-related deaths in Saskatchewan since the pandemic started to 667. 

The number of people in hospital receiving treatment for COVID-19 also increased, going up by six, to 282. There were two more people who were admitted into intensive care. As of Saturday afternoon, there were 63 people in intensive care across the province. 

Of the 492 cases reported Saturday, 114, or 23.2 percent, were under the age of 12. Another 214 were between the ages of 12 and 40. The remaining 164 cases were those over the age of 40. When it comes to vaccination status, 410 of the cases reported on Saturday were in people who are not vaccinated against COVID-19 or are partially vaccinated.  

The Saskatoon region had the most new cases reported, with 127, followed by the North West region with 85. There were 47 new cases reported in the Regina region, 32 in the South West and South East regions, 30 in the North Central, 28 in the Far North West, 20 in the Central East and the South Central, 16 in the Far North East, 15 in the North East, 11 in the Central West and one in the Far North Central region. 

There were 2,897 first doses of a COVID vaccine reported, and 2,120 second doses. This brings the total number of vaccinated people in Saskatchewan up to 727,357, or 61.7 percent of the province’s population.
