The United Way's Telethon is quickly approaching, with the two-day event beginning on Friday.

Community members are excited to go out and donate to causes, with community organizations also excited at being able to serve Estevan and the surrounding area.

That includes the Creighton Lodge Trust Committee, which looks after the building as it manages the folks that live there.

Board Chair Marnell Eagles says that the United Way helps them out in plenty of small ways as well.

"They also help us every day with small things like snacks for the residents, and ice cream, they also help with some bigger events and some smaller renovations that we've done in Creighton Lodge over the years. With that United Way, they're just a top-shelf organization, with a dedication that goes beyond."

Besides helping to maintain the lodge, they're also helping out with another project that's currently in the planning stages.

"Right now we've had some meetings going forwards with some projects that are in the making, but we haven't decided or finalized that."

She also thanked everyone in the community and all of the organizations which help out at the lodge on a regular basis.
