There were 502 new cases of COVID-19 reported Saturday afternoon, along with 381 recoveries. This brought the number of active cases in the province up to 4,798. There were also five deaths linked to COVID-19 included in the update.  

Of the new cases that were reported, 129 were in children under the age of 12, and 54 in those between the ages of 12 and 19. There were 133 cases in the 20-39 age range, 88 in the 40-59 age group, 65 in the 60-79 age group and 12 were 80 or older. 

By region, there were 124 new cases in the Saskatoon region and 81 in the Regina region. Another 63 cases were reported in the North West, 47 in the South East, 38 in the Central East, 29 in the North Central, 27 in the South West, 22 in the Far North West and the Far North East regions, 14 in the North East, nine in the South Central and seven in the Central West. 

When looking at the vaccination status of the new cases, 424 were not fully vaccinated, while 78 were fully vaccinated.  

Throughout the province, there are 332 people who are in hospital receiving treatment for COVID-19, which was down by 11 from Friday. However, seven more people had been admitted into intensive care, bringing that total up to 78.  

Of the 5,681 doses of COVID vaccine that were administered, 2,964 were first doses, and 2,717 were second doses. This brings the total percentage of the population fully vaccinated against COVID-19 to 63.8 percent.
