A morning commute that could be a little challenging could turn into something tricker for your drive home.

Highways reportedly have icy sections with drifting snow and slush in areas Thursday morning, though the list of adverse conditions could grow in the afternoon.

A blowing snow advisory was issued by Environment Canada, with wind expected to increase to 50 kph with gusts of 70 in the southeast by around 2 p.m.

Light snow is expected from mid-afternoon into the evening.

Saskatchewan Highways and Transportation's Highway Hotline is reporting (as of 5 a.m.) winter driving conditions across most of the southeast. Though travel is not recommended northwest of the Yellow Grass area on Highway 39, as it is ice-covered.

Wind should die down to 40 gusting to 70 this evening, before tapering off further overnight.
