The Estevan Police Service were alerted to a person falling victim to an Amazon scam on Monday, though it could have been worse.
Police said a report came in saying an amount of money was sent, and a large portion of the money was returned to the victim with no further instructions.
It was reported to the bank immediately, and no more money was lost.
The EPS details three other calls from Monday in a release:

- EPS received the report of an assault that resulted in minor injuries occurring at an Estevan School. The matter remains under investigation.
- A report was received regarding someone attempting to change an employee’s banking information for payroll without proper authorization. Fortunately no information was provided.
