The Estevan Police Service had two calls Tuesday night, the first turning out to be a non-issue, while the other was quite significant.

Getting over the first call, the police were called to the south end of the city when an individual was reported as acting suspiciously. When police arrived, the man was found to have lived in the area as was confused, but was calmed down and returned home without incident.

On to the serious matter of the evening. Sergeant Kevin Reed says that police were called to the northeast corner of the city after a woman was running around the hallways of a multi-dwelling unit.

"Members attended and arrested a 35-year-old male for assault and break and enter to a dwelling. The male resisted arrest and was taken into custody. He was lodged in detention for the evening and will be released later on Wednesday on conditions."

The male will face three charges when he goes to court in December, breaking and entering into a dwelling, assault, and resisting arrest. The woman who was the victim was uninjured.

Also during the day yesterday, the entire public had to deal with suddenly slick road conditions. According to Reed, only two calls during the entire day involving motor vehicle accidents, and both were minor enough that no other emergency services were required to be on scene.
