It's a new year and a new face for the Estevan Chamber of Commerce. At their Annual General Meeting held last week, they welcomed incoming president John Williams, while expressing their deep thanks and well wishes to Josh Leblanc, who is stepping down.

Leblanc was grateful for his time as president with the Chamber, and described it as eventful, fun and a great learning experience.

"We accomplished pretty much everything that I wanted to accomplish."

One of those goals was the creation of an Economic Development Board. He noted that the Chamber is growing stronger every year and there is a lot of optimism moving forward. He added that being president was a humbling experience and he was grateful for the opportunity to serve as President.

Williams expressed his gratitude to his predecessor adding, "He is a great advocate for the business community, introducing events such as with Savour the Southeast."

Jackie Wall, Executive Director for the Chamber of Commerce, added that Leblanc was one of the reasons for the success of last year.

"Josh has been a really great president. He has been supportive and put forth a lot of new ideas."

Wall is also excited looking forward to the new president and said that Williams "will be an outstanding president as well."

Williams is looking forward to taking on the larger role and is encouraged with the amount of support that he has received.

"We have a very active board, and the membership has grown and is stronger. I've been involved in the Chamber for 5 years and this is the largest I've ever seen it."

Leblanc, stepping back after a year of great work, is excited with the level of business knowledge that successor will bring.

"He is familiar with the issues and is a great community member."
