Estevan Fire Rescue was on the scene for multiple calls over the week, with a few being the result of some botched cooking.

On Monday, March 25, at around 1:20 p.m., a crew was dispatched to commercial fire alarms in the central part of the city. Crews responded and investigated determining the alarm was cooking-related. Crews ensured the property was properly ventilated and the alarm system was reset.

A similar situation came up on Friday, March 29, at around 11:50 a.m., when a crew headed to a residential fire alarm in the Northeast area of the city. Crews responded and determined another alarm was cooking-related.

Before the smoke had settled another call came in that day at 12:11 p.m., with a crew dispatched to a residential fire alarm in the Northwest area of the city. Crews responded and determined that this alarm was cooking-related as well.

In all three cases, the crew determined that no assistance was required.

Later in the day at 8:40 p.m., a crew responded to a 2 vehicle collision approximately five miles east of Estevan. Crews responded and assisted with no reported entrapment or injuries as a result of the collision.
