The Estevan Curling Club was jam packed with people Thursday night as the Estevan Bruins held their year-end Sportsman Dinner.

Players, coaches, Bruins staff, and family and friends were all in attendance as awards were handed out to the players.

Dayton Deics and Caelan Fitzpatrick received the Iron Man Award, Mark Rumsey got the Top Scorer Award, and Deics also received the Community Involvement Award.

The Most Popular Player was Mikol Sartor, the Most Sportsmanlike Player Award was given to Olivier Pouliot, while the Defenceman of the Year was Dayton Deics and Playoff MVP honours were given to Boston Bilous.

The Most Valuable Player Award was handed out to Eric Pearce.

NHL prospect Brayden Pachal and Bruins alumni Joe Watson and Alan May appeared as guest speakers.

"It was great to have an event like this after the COVID-19 pandemic," said Bruins Directors of Marketing & Operations Adam Shirley. "We're very happy with the support from the community."

Money raised at the event through the auction prizes will go towards team initiatives including scholarships, travel, and sponsorships.

The final dollar total was still being tallied on Friday.
