The Estevan RCMP are continuing to investigate a house fire that occurred in Bienfait in the early-morning hours of August 7, but do not believe it's connected to other recent structure fires in the area.
Cpl. Jason Collen said on Thursday that a fire scene examiner has been to the location of the long-weekend inferno, and that the investigation is ongoing.
Estevan Fire Rescue Services reported they were called to the blaze for mutual aid by the Bienfait Fire Department at 3:15 a.m. and were on scene for about six hours.
Collen said there is "no linkage that the Estevan RCMP is aware of" between the August 7 fire and a pair of house fires that happened in Estevan on July 21 and 23.
The July 21 fire was on the 400 block of 3rd Street. The Estevan Police Service reported that day that it was being treated as suspicious.
The July 23 fire happened in the Trojan subdivision. It was not reported as suspicious.
