A pair of events in Estevan was a part of this week's council meeting, as permits were discussed.

The first was the Downtown Business association's Downtown Street Dance which is being held next month.

That'll be on the 23 of July, held on the 1100 block of 4 Street with organizers planning for the event to run from 9 pm to 2 am.

It'll have live country music artists Brock Andrews and Brody Sieberts providing the music.

Last year's event brought in around 1,500 people and was held shortly after lockdowns were lifted in Saskatchewan.

That event was given their permit as the city council carried a motion to accept that event - with the condition that they make sure the Garden on 4th Street is not disturbed by the party.

As well during the meeting, the Black Grasshopper Pub asked to have their event's date moved.

That is now set for August 13, changed from July 9.

That's an event that is similar to one they held last year, a parking lot party with live music and food from 6 pm to 2 am.

The council also accepted that in a motion.
