As the Estevan Bruins gear up for their final home game of the regular season against their long-standing rivals, the Weyburn Red Wings on Friday, March 15, anticipation is at an all-time high. With a slew of activities planned, the atmosphere at Affinity Place promises to be nothing short of electric.

One of the most anticipated events of the evening is the annual jersey auction, which will have its online portion start on Wednesday, March 13 at 5:00 PM and run until Midnight on Friday, March 15. The live auction will take place during the game while the online action pauses and will feature the Bruins' distinctive grey third jerseys, with proceeds going towards the Estevan Bruins Scholarship Fund.

Robert Godfrey, the director of Game Day operations for the Estevan Bruins, explained, "We try to focus on graduating players, if there's any local guys, we like to get them in the auction, as well as fan favourites."

This year, one jersey stands out as particularly noteworthy – that of Carter Onrait, an AP player. Godfrey expressed his enthusiasm for Onrait's inclusion, noting, "This is probably the first time that we've seen this, an AP getting to be a part of not only the auction but the live auction." What makes Onrait's jersey auction even more impactful is that all proceeds will be directed towards the Kinsman outdoor rink.

During the live auction, six jerseys will be up for grabs, including those of:

  • Keagon Little
  • Zach Burfoot
  • Carter Onrait (Affiliate Player)
  • Owen Barrow
  • Jackson Miller
  • Cameron Hrdlicka

These jerseys will not be available for online bidding.

For those unable to attend the game in person, online bidding will be available for the remaining jerseys. Bidders must leave a comment on the player's jersey page, including their name, phone number/email, and bid amount. The minimum bid increment is $20, ensuring that each bid makes a meaningful contribution to the cause.

To ensure fair bidding, the Bruins have implemented the 3-minute rule, which extends the auction by 3 minutes each time a bid is placed within the final 3 minutes of closing time. This rule aims to prevent last-minute bids from skewing the results.
