An expo hosted by the Estevan Early Years Family Resource Centre over the weekend showed families what's available in the community.

The day featured multiple tables with experts from numerous organizations, along with some fun for kids in the form of a bouncy castle and face painting.

They also fundraised with a $5 hotdog and drink lunch with the whole event held at Spruce Ridge School.

Director of Programs and Community Engagement Misty Pennington says they wanted to get the community aware of some of the local programs.

"Our whole goal was bringing a bunch of local resources together, professionals and different programs for zero to five-year-olds that people might not know exist in our community. We also have a bouncy castle, a whole entertainment agenda, and a hot dog sale."

Their booths had a wide variety of experts represented.

"We have 15 different booths. We have the Mama coach here, we have Theraplay, we have a chiropractor, we have a financial planner," said Pennington, "We have Sarah East with Speech and Language Services. We have a couple of different programs like the library and the museum. We also have variable nutrition."

Pennington says the event was well received by parents and kids, with her encouraging people who want to know more to contact her.

"I would just like to let people know that everything we do is free. If you have any questions about any services, please don't hesitate to contact us and we'd be more than happy to give you a referral to anybody. We also are creating a child service guide for locally here at Estevan. So if that's something you're interested in, reach out to us."
