Five reported assaults over the weekend, including incident against police officer

The Estevan Police Service received five reports of assaults over the weekend, with three remaining under investigation.

One of those matters involved a 37-year-old Estevan man, who was charged with two counts of assaulting a police officer, two counts of uttering threats, resisting arrest, and breaching an undertaking.

He's scheduled to make his first appearance on the charges in Estevan Provincial Court on November 21.

Police said they had 46 occurrences on the weekend, including 24 calls for service. They issued three traffic tickets. And two cases of missing youths were successfully resolved.
