The Estevan Police Service announced that three people were charged following an August 31 drug bust on Highway 39.

29-year-old Kaitlyn Howells from Weyburn made her first court appearance on Tuesday in Weyburn.

She's been charged with

  1.  possess methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking contrary to Section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
  2. possess Fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking contrary to Section 5(2) ofthe Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
  3. possess cocaine for the purpose of trafficking contrary to Section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
  4. Traffic fentanyl contrary to Section 5(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
  5. Traffic methamphetamine contrary to Section 5(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

Howells was remanded in custody. Her next appearance is on Monday, September 12 in Estevan Provincial Court.

The names of the other two people haven't been released, as their first court appearances are October 11 in Weyburn.

A 24-year-old woman from Saskatoon was charged with possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose contrary to Section 88(2) of the Criminal Code.

And a 33-year-old man from Weyburn was charged with breaching a probation order under Section 733.1(1).
