Jays Outfielder Vernon Wells


The Toronto Blue Jays picked up win number 1 on the season last night. The Jays beat the Texas Rangers by a score of 7-4.

Vernon Wells was  a big part of the win as he nailed a pair of homeruns, and collected 3 RBIs. Wells already has 3 homeruns this season.Alex Gonzalez also hit a home run, his first as a Blue Jay.

Brian Tallet went 6.2 innings allowing 4 runs 2 of which were unearned to pick up the win. Jason Frasor avenging from his opening day blown save, came on in the 9th and picked up his first save. He struck out 2 batters in the process.

The Jays will look for the series win this afternoon as they send Ricky Romero to the mound. The Rangers will reply with CJ Wilson. The first pitch is 12:00.
