Estevan hosting the Southeast Saskatchewan Women of Distinction Awards, recognizing five deserving women for their commitment and contribution to their community.

One of the outstanding women named was Kylie Phillipchuk, who was awarded the Young Visionary Award.

She is a fantastic employee at the Estevan Public Library, a competitive athlete, and a key part of fundraising for the pink tournament and A&W.

"I didn't expect it. To be in the same room with a bunch of different women in the community also amazingly impacted our town and I was one of those women along with Reagan Walter. I wasn't expecting to be on that list of women that have made a big difference. It was a beautiful experience"
