A strong contingent of supporters took to Woodlawn Regional Park Sunday to play their part in the fight against a disease that still has no cure.

The Estevan location was one of many across the country for the annual Walk to Make Cystic Fibrosis History.

The event began at the Rotary Hall, before participants tackled soggy treks of either two or four kilometres, and returned for closing ceremonies.

$10,863 has been raised for the Estevan location as of Monday morning. The listed goal on the location's page was $8,000.

Walk Coordinator Kasey McIntyre took to the group's Facebook page to express her gratitude to all who supported the cause on Sunday.

MP Robert Kitchen, Estevan MLA Lori Carr, and Estevan Mayor Roy Ludwig were dignitaries for the event.
