Southeast College announced Tuesday that it has renewed its scholarship partnership with Vermilion Energy.

The Calgary-based oil and gas company will be giving the college $9,000 over the next three years to support the ongoing education and success of students at Southeast College.

"Vermilion is proud to be a financial supporter to the Southeast College Scholarship Fund. Our 'Vermilion Ways of Caring' community investment program is helping to fulfill our purpose – to responsibly produce essential energy – by giving back to our community partners and contributing to healthy, resilient and sustainable communities," said Shane Pollock, Area Superintendent for Vermilion Energy in a release.

The college said the bursary recipients will be selected based on both financial need and community involvement, and that preference will be given to students who live in southeast Saskatchewan and who are pursuing an education in the electrical, industrial mechanics, or office administration fields.

"Southeast College is grateful to Vermilion Energy for choosing to invest in Southeast College students," said Kassandra Lawrenz, Manager of College Advancement for Southeast College. "It’s continued partnerships like this that are so valuable for our students as they are able to ease some of the financial pressures of pursuing a post-secondary education."
