If you're going to be spending any time near water this summer, the Lifesaving Society and the City of Estevan are reminding you to be safe.

According to Jan Michael Bourgeois, a Lifeguard and Water Safety Instructor at the Souris Valley Aquatic and Leisure Centre, the majority of people who drown in Canada are six and under, and between eighteen and thirty-six.

You can be water safe by remembering not to consume alcohol while swimming or boating, and always have enough lifejackets on board.
