The Estevan Early Years Family Resource Centre (Family Centre) has introduced two new programs aimed at supporting mothers and caregivers in the community.

The first initiative is the postpartum wellness boxes, designed for new mothers with babies up to eight weeks old. Misty Pennington, director of programs and community engagement at the Family Centre, encourages new moms to pick up these boxes. “We want mom to come pick them up, meet our staff, see our space, and see all the resources we have available for her here at the centre,” said Pennington.

In collaboration with Envision Counselling & Support Centre, the Family Centre is also offering on-site counselling sessions every second Tuesday of the month from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. During these sessions, caregivers can speak with a counsellor while their children are supervised by staff. Pennington noted, “We invite caregivers to pop on in and just chat with the counsellor. We have staff on site available to watch their kids while they have a chat.”
